The Silver Surfer and Spider-Man cross paths while both are soaring through the city. Based on what he’s heard about the Surfer, Spider-Man treats him with hostility. The Surfer tries to avoid fighting him, but Spider-Man doesn’t let him leave. The army enters the battle and begins to fire on the Surfer. He calls his board, but is shocked to see a boy on it. The Surfer sacrifices himself to protect the boy from the army’s firepower. Seeing this sacrifice, Spider-Man and the army stop their attack, realizing they were wrong in seeing the Silver Surfer as the enemy.
